Was looking for a way to drip feed phyto ect. And have come up with the following.

What is needed
1x 2L plastic bottle £1.57 (pepsi max 2l) :icon_rolleyes:
Plant irrigation Controller £4.24 each or £10.19 for 4

Flow can be controled from 1 drop, water is released drop by drop 24 hours a day without any evaporation, electricity or cost.

Nope not even 1watt, It's gravity feed by the bottle being higher than the controller.

Not telling you how to suck eggs but its not advisable to drip feed phyto unless you are talking about 10ml over a hour

why ?

phyto needs to be either

suspended by the means of water movement
or
kept at around 4 degrees

so in creating a drip system to feed your tank phyto be it live nonno or flex etc you wont (a) be able to keep it suspended ( live phyto) or (b) at a refregerated temp, why keep it cold ? When Phytoplankton is freshly cultured, it is not actively growing. The phyto cells can decrease in nutritional value and begin to crash. That’s where your fridge comes into play. Storing Live Phytoplankton in a fridge is the absolute best way to preserve the nutritional content once it has been cultured.

not putting a downer on your idea but it realy isnt advisable, if you want togo a head and try it please do a moconefirst ie instead of it dripping into your tank make it drip onto a tray on your brace bar or something, come back in a hour or two and have a smell at the dead cells,

Nothing stopping you having the bottom cut off the bottle and adding an airline to keep the phyto moving.

I think it is a great idea and may look at this for the breeding tanks. :icon_lol:
