Can anyone PM me a link for a 85w SAD bulb that takes a E40 connector. Very intrested in setting up these day light bulbs with my lumenarc reflectors.

Also thinking of buying some GU10 LED 240v Bulbs - Bloody cheap!

James i got the 65watt sad bulbs from ebay and made mirrored acrylic reflectors. They look good but are a bit yellow at 6500k great for growing corals etc though. I have supplemented with blue leds and they look great, i'll get some pics up later. I spoke to a friend who's an electrician about xmas outdoor led lights and he said they'll do just as good a job when comparing the ones for aquariums from China so i got 120 static blue leds for a tenner and mounted them on the diy'd canopy for the sad lights. They also look great and use no power at all. My crispa nem is on the bottom of 30" and is doing fine although it's only been 2 days so time will tell

I honestly was thinking about outdoor xmas tree lights.

I am wanting to reduce the cost of t5s and it was only for illumination not coral growth. Do they do a standard white rather than blue?

On the reef coral side I am definnetely willing to give the natural daylight bulbs a go. What is 65w equivalent to in metal halide? 200 watts?

They are reputably equivalent to 350 watt although everybody seems to say they are more like 250watt halides. I have ordered a set of standard white leds from the bay-cost me 7 quid for 120. I'm going to have these come on 1 hour befor the sads and then off 1 hour after to make it easier for the fish. Just to add the blue outdoor leds really make the colours of the corals glow more than the 2 t5s i had on my 4footer. At the end of the day you can only try-i haven't got rid of my halides and t5s just yet but it's looking good.
