Lymphocystis is a viral disease, a bit like the common cold in humans. This disease has no known cure, but is rarely fatal if the fish is kept in a stable environment and given a good, varied diet.

Here is a pic of a fish with such a disease;

Looks tricky to spot Chris. Does it affect all fish?

Are there any other symptoms?

Its not that tricky to spot as it just looks like blobs of cotton wool and no it does not always infect all fish and from my experiences it is not that contagious at all, as long as the fish you are keeping are kepy in good conditions and fed with good foods, enriched with vitamins.:)

angelfish are quite prone in getting this disease,but nearly always recover providing your water conditions are kept perfect.queen angels frequently get this but they usually recover in three to four weeks.derek
