hi all , i have just bought a pair of blue throat triggers from my lfs and the male seems to be chasing the female aggressivly is this normall ?? they have been in the tank for around 24 hrs now and the female is staying away in the rocks commin out rarley to feed, mabye its just settleing in as the where together in a tank in the lfs and i left them in there for a week before taking them

anyone experianced anything like this ?

these fish are quite timid when put in to a system im not being funny are you sure they are a pair not 2 of the same sex ,also what size of system have they gone into
as a smaller system they will look for territory just some options they are a lovely fish but the feeding doesnt half put a load on your system i found that out as they need to be kept well fed hope this helps john

cheers for the reply john, they are in a 6ft by 30 by 30 with a 4 ft sump,before i got them i done plenty reashearch and stocked up on some meaty foods for them, theres 160kg of live rock in there so plenty of hidy hole to go around, from what i have read they are definatly male and female as the male has the blue throat and yellow fringe on his fins and the female doesnt, i hope that its just a settleing in to the souroundings as they seemed fine together in the shops tiny tank

hi dean it sounds like you got a pair .also sounds like it the settling in thing they will settle im sure in a system that size and are great tankmates if not a little shy at first stunning fish and grow really quick good l;uck with thewm i love em the only fish i wanted more was a pair of
crosshatch but at around 500-750 pound a pair a little out of reach
