I'm struggling for ideas for my last fish. I would like to go for a medium sized fish as I have mostly small fish at the moment.. I have the following in a 4x2x2 with very large sump.
2x Ocellaris Clowns
2x Chromis
2x Yellow Goby
1x Watchman Goby
1x Midas Blenny
1x Cleaner Wrasse
1x Royal Gramma
1x Firefish
I've had a flame angel previously before moving but he was a little too bossy for my liking so would prefer to avoid the same.
So far I have thought about the kole tang but think this will get too big. Then I thought about the coral beauty but worried it will have the same temperament as the flame angel.
Anyone got any thoughts on the CB or any other suggestions?
Thanks.

Hi how about a Bi Colour Angel , i have one and he his about 5 inch and a model fish no bother gets along with all my other fish. Or why not get a pair of them and put them in together as they will be ok if one is slightly smaller than the other. HTH Twiggy:jump:

Cheers Twiggy.. I'll look at them and have a think.. I think as far as bio load goes, a pair would be out but one might be good. I'm off pairs anyhoo. The only reason I'm looking is because one of my midas blennies jumped and I don't want to risk replacing it like for like. Six months I had managed with two midas' and then out one came right down the back of the tank stand. Finally got to it after about 10 minutes and put straight back in the water but stopped breathing. I reckon less than a minute earlier and I would have got away with it. And yep, I have jump guards, but they clearly need a re-think.
Just dug out the ol' fish bible and had a look at the bicolour.. Quite stunning, albeit a little bigger than the CB. It says that they may take a fancy to LPS, how have you got on in that respect? I currently have a hammer and a torch that I would rather not become fish food.

Hi i have had no trouble with my Bi colour regarding LPS, but my clowns did host in every LPS i had and killed them. Like all Angels they are all different some do eat corals and some dont. HTH Twiggy:jump:

Well the choice is yours m8 any Centropyges Angel will be ok in that size tank, also a small Tomini Tang will be ok. Or you can get some reef safe butterfly fish which are nice and would go in your tank. HTH Twiggy:D:D

My reason for thinking about the kole tang was that it can help contol some detritus (Or did I dream that one up?) sure I read somewhere.
Must admit I've not heard of the tomini tang but looks stunning on google.
I expect none of the fish mentioned are useful with detritus control? assuming I haven't made that bit up.

As far as im aware nothing eats detritus!!!!
However a kole tang/tomini/goldrush/bristle tooth will all eat algae's that are a nuisance like hair algae ect...:D:D
How about an orchid dottyback????

Thought it might be a bit too good to be true.. don't know what I've read or where.
Orchid Dotty is out as I have a royal gramma.. there would be trouble.

Hi i have also read some where that Kole Tangs eat Cyno algae, but as for keeping a tank clean Kole Tangs are good at keeping nearly all algaes in check. HTH Twiggy:D:D

I do love the kole tang but feel it wouldnt be fair on it being a relatively small tank.

Hi a Kole will be ok on its own with no other Tangs, it will be ok as its basisically a 100 gallon tank and they dont grow that large as other Tangs do. HTH Twiggy:D:D
