I changed tanks recently and have had an outbreak of the dreaded red slime algae. I am managing to keep vaguely on top of it but my new tank is a pain in the a**e cos it's very deep (awkward getting to the bottom) and keeping moving the halide around to get into the tank is a pain. I've added extra phosphate remover and tried to change flow to help but was wondering if there are any critters that will actually eat this stuff and help me in my ongoing quest to rid my tank of it!!??
Cheers.

Hi Macca is your man to ask as he his a critter expert. How long do you have your lights on for as if you have them on for more than 6 hours i wiould knock them off as excess lighting can cause red slime algae along with excess nutrients silicates etc and low flow. HTH Twiggy:D:D
