Calcium chloride, dosed in the amounts derived from this calculator.

Oh and watch the bicarb dosing, it can alter (lower) the ph.
Its recommended to bake some at highest setting for an hour, to turn it into sodium carbonate. this raises ph, canceling each others ph affecting ability out.

thanks for the warning, too be honest, im not dosing much, i use tm pro and this gives me good levels, however the corraline is becoming rampant and taking the levels down a bit, so a little here and there is all im doing just to boost levels, thanks again though, much appreciated

mag at present is 1400, calcium is 480, ph is 8.2, alk is at 8, my alk fell to under 7 earlier in the week i dosed the soda and its now up to 8, i have had calcium under 400 before and water changes normally sort this out, however i am getting lots of corraline and some hard corals are close to going in so rather than keep water changing, i suspect i will need to dose for calcium eventually and am looking for info to look at way in advance of needing too, thanks for the questions, keeps me thinking, especially early in the morning, its nearly 11 but i feel like its about 6, :D

Yeah once the corraline starts up, it tends to slurp out calcium like theres no tomorrow.
Still all good practice for the SPS as you say :P
