strange tang behaviour

right, i have seen this with triggers but never with tangs, it my regal, every so often he rearranges the tank, nothing major, basically i leave snail shells in the tank for hermits to change homes, every so often the mad regal starts picking them up and dumping them in a pile, this morn in the front of the tank are 7 old turbo shells, one cowrie shell, two empty oyster shells, a couple of small bits of rock, all moved from when he started doing it late last night, flys down, grabs a shell goes to were he wants to dump them and drops them from the water surface, i have seen him do it with live hermits as well as live snails hes pushed off the glass, i doubt its a hunger thing because the porker aint thin, i cant relate it to anything done in tank, i.e water changes etc

anyone any ideas or should i consider sending him to to see a shrink :D:D

been on something i think, though at the moment peace is in the tank, hes like the dog, sniffing around looking for something, im really starting to wonder if the white powder i am using to increase the alk is speed :eek::D:D

Hi thats nothing new with Regals, i once remember someone no names mentioned who saw a Regal in a LFS tank that was on its side, he thought the fish was on its last legs and bought it to try and save it. Only to find next morning it was swimming like a good un, which goes to show dont be surprisd what Regal Tangs do. HTH Twiggy:D:D

must admit eric this ones a real overt character, when i first got him he hid for all of 5 mins, then was out scouring the tank on a feeding mission, if you put your hands in `his` water he will quite happilly tail flick you a few times to drive you away, im wondering if its his thing about occasional munching of xenia has addled his brains :D:D

Hi they are one of the most unusual tangs i have come across, mine used to lay flat and slide under the egg crate which was hardly enough room for him to get under and i half expected him getting stuck. Then he would pop out of the back and start doing it again, the thing was when he wanted the big Sailfins cave and got stabbed more than once but still came back for more he never learnt. It was the first time i have had a Regal and to this day i will not have another one even if i had it given as they are crazy fish. Twiggy:D:D

Mine used to do the same he/ she even used to follow a hermit until it reached the other side of the tank then pick it up and take it to the other end and drop it it would keep doing this until the hermit went into the rock work funny as hell to watch,

My Regal does this all so , loves to rearange my frags if there not secure Grrrr ..
Takes the hermits for a ride around the tank at times too .
