Im getting worried about him as he's looking like a tang i once saw that had latteral line desease!!!!

Can he be suffering from it???? or is it more likely to be something else????

Hi Lee the first question is , what are you feeding your trigger. As triggers like big meaty foods such as whole clams/mussels and shrimps also you should leave the clams in there shells as it helps with the triggers teeth as they grow and need wearing down. Mysis and brineshrimp etc and flake are not much good for a trigger, but if you are already feeding the big meaty food then he maybe has an internal parasite or worms. You can get some stuff to worm fish, i was once told that thats why Copperband Butterflys die is because they have worms and dont get enough nourishment from the food, and if you worm them when they come into the lfs they will survive. I dont know if this is true but its believeable and maybe correct. HTH Twiggy:D:D

Hi Lee that the only thing with big fish, they really need to be in a fish only system so then nitrates dont bother them. You will have to do more regular water changes to take out all the excess nutrients etc. Thats the reason i am not having large fish in my new tank, the biggest will be a Yellow Tang. HTH Twiggy:D:D

could be due to some internal problem such as worms, you can get a de-wormer called cedapraz which is used in the treatment of pondfish but can also be used for marine but there must not be any inverts present in the tank.might pay to try & catch it & treat it in quarentine tank as a last resort lee.derek

unfortunatly you are in a catch 22 situation, you dont want high nitrates but you have a large fish, most prob not being fed enough, they are know as dustbins with fins
