quarantining and filters

in my quarantine tank i have a fluval 2+ filter,do i need to mature these filters and use them as if i use copper as a preventative treatment will it not just kill the bacteria:confused:

Hi Chris copper should be ok with bio media as a filter , its live rock that it kills. You need to mature the filter as if your stocking it as normal then add copper if needed. HTH Twiggy:D:D

Hi,

Yes you have to mature the filters and as the guys have said Copper won't kill the bacteria, at least not all of it. What to do if you are concerned is get some Seachem Stability and pop in a dose of this along with each Copper dose if you have to treat the fish.
