Hi all,
I was at Macca's today and tried to decribe this strange clown fish that we bought a couple of weeks ago. Here are some poor pics taken with my camera phone. The quality is even worse than my normal ones due to him moving about all the time and me having to use the (cr*p) "sport" mode.

Is it just a cross bred clarki, or a recognised type?
To me the differences are..
1) white on the top edge of (longer than normal?) tail fin.
2) central white band extending into the top fin
3) Larger than normal Pectoral fins?

Or am I just imagining things?

Oops... forgot the pics Doh

Peter

Edit: you cant really see the full size of the pectoral fins as they have a black outer edge all the way round which doesnt show in the pics

My guess is its an orange fin clownfish, very much like a clarki.

of course I can, try a google on the species Amphiprion chrysopterus and see if its the same species.

No its not the same:(
However our lass says that if they look like the top one in this link
http://www.austmus.gov.au/fishes/fishfacts/fish/achrysop.htm

i.e the white tail variant, then please keep her a pair and i will see if I can find the other a temporary home until the big tank is back up.
